Pre-owned Rolex Explorer II ref 16570 (2006) was a catalog staple for decades between the 1980s and 2010s. Many iterations hit the market during that time, making it an exciting Rolex to hunt for on the used market. Coincidentally, that also makes ref. 16570 relatively easy to find in excellent condition. The example you see here is a desirable black dial model produced sometime in the mid-2000s. It sports a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, caliber 3185 Perpetual movement, and white gold applied hour markers filled with Super-LumiNova. This model was developed for spelunking and other adventures in dark environments and also features a fixed 24-hour bezel for AM/PM indication.
